- Engage or observe
- Subject or Scene

- Check your frame

Initial Technical Checklist
- Have a composition in mind
- Choose your lens and film (ISO etc)
- Choose your shutter/Aperture combination
- Control the light (Reflect and fill)
- Camera parallel, horizontals and verticals
Initial Studio Checklist
- Distance to subject to background (Aperture selection and focus)
- Check the key light (Adjust for correct aperture)
- Check the fill lighting and ratio (reflected or lit)
- Check all equipment and test where possible
- Forget the technical stuff and concentrate on the subject.
